Dr. Alexis (she/her) is the founder of our mental health practice Wit and Reason, Producer and Host of Wit & Reason with Dr. Alexis on 96.3 HD DC Radio and Co-Founder of Luna de Honey lifestyle and wellness retreats. She has been a regular psychological expert guest on KDWN 101.5 FM and shared meaningful tips on KNX 1070 News Radio, KABC, NPR's WAMU, and ABC News. Dr. Alexis has been recognized and awarded as the Top Integrative Mental Health & Wellness Doctor throughout the Washington, DC and Los Angeles, California regions and is featured on the TOP Doctors Interviews which are seen on CNN Headline News, MSNBC, Oprah Winfrey Network, BRAVO, and other networks.

Dr. Alexis is passionate about the interplay between mass media communications, culture, & personal factors, which explains her academic pursuits. She has a Doctorate in Clinical-Community Psychology, a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a dual Bachelor of Science in Television Broadcasting and Psychology. The more time she spends researching human behavior and working in communities internationally and across the US, the more she is inspired by the power of systematically addressing personal and social issues via quality media outreach. She started public speaking as a guest health educator in high-risk middle and high schools, provided psychotherapy to children, families, and couples recovering from violence and trauma, and treated adults on parole and in maximum security psychiatric hospitals suffering from severe mental illness. Spending the last 15 years teaching and addressing every personal topic and crisis imaginable has made corporate public speaking and live media communications a breeze. Dr. Alexis approaches every project with collaboratively and works with teams in a respectful, humanistic style.

Alex Honigman, LICSW, MA

Alex (he/him) enjoys the relationship between the psyche and society.  Having never wanted to pick a side in the nature versus nurture debate he pursued degrees in both Psychology and Sociology and finally a Masters of Social Work with an emphasis on clinical interventions. He has worked as an educator for non-profits and lecturer for Universities.  Starting as a therapist for survivors of trauma, moving on to perpetrators and spent significant time as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at a Forensic State Hospital.  Alex continues to emphasize culture as a key component to effective therapy and the changing of systems (organizations and businesses).  Whether this be through; music, film, tv, art, comics, games, memes or other aspects of popular (or sometimes unpopular) culture.  Utilizing an individuals cultural values to make for a more meaningful individualized therapeutic intervention.

Lalo Moreno, MA

Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity Diversity advisor

Lalo (they/them) has worked extensively within the LGBT community since earning a BA in Philosophy and double minor degrees in Pre-Law & Sociology at Mount St. Mary’s University. Back then Lalo took on the role of acting president for the Gay Straight Alliance. Today, Lalo is the Co-Founder of Expanding Identity Development Consulting, ensuring that organizations are utilizing best practices when working with LGBTQ folks. Lalo also works as the Director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Student Services (LGBTSS) and Intercultural Programming at Loyola Marymount University, California. Lalo is the advisor of the registered student organization Transcendence which caters to the needs and development of Trans* Non-Binary student populations. They also work extensively with the LGBT Center of Los Angeles, youth education department Lifeworks. Lalo has been training with the Community Action Network out of the LGBT Center, engaging LGBT youth populations in storytelling, resonance building, leadership development, and educational attainment. Needless to say, Lalo loves all things LGBT and education. Lalo hopes to pursue their Ph.D. in Queer Theory ...and maybe if they're feeling ambitious their Law Degree.
